The Best Peppermint Bark Recipe Ever
As much as I love giving holiday presents that I bought, I have always believed the handmade gifts mean the most. Plus, making gifts means that there are no dicey delivery dates or shipping issues to stress about around the holidays (especially if you are a last minute shopper!). You may know (or definitely know if you follow me on Instagram) that I love to bake. Baked goods are a great last minute gift for the holidays, so I am going to be sharing with you my amazing recipe for peppermint bark, one of my favorite treats! I originally found this peppermint bark recipe from Delish.com, but I added some of my own tips and tricks to it to make it even easier and enjoyable to make. This recipe makes about two full mason jars, so you could even make double or triple this recipe to drop off to all your friends and family this COVID-free Christmas. You can make it look like a gift with a cute ribbon, name tag, and other fun accessories. It is also the perfect thing to gift yourself and make throughout the year!
Ingredients:
12 oz. semisweet chocolate
12 oz. white chocolate
½ tsp. peppermint extract
About 8 candy canes
Shop ingredients:
Instructions:
- Chop semisweet chocolate and heat until melted. I double boiled it on the stove to melt it.
2. Add peppermint extract to the chocolate.
3. Pour the chocolate onto a baking sheet with parchment paper and refrigerate until set (about 25 minutes).
4. Put the candy canes into a blender or food processor until small nibs are formed. Set aside for later.
5. Melt the white chocolate and pour onto the set semisweet chocolate.
6. Immediately after pouring the white chocolate, sprinkle the candy cane nibs over the white chocolate.
7. Put the pan back into the refrigerator to set again (another 25 minutes).
8. Take out the bark and cut to enjoy! I personally like cutting the bark into triangles. Add to a mason jar and tie a ribbon around it to add a cute touch if you are gifting this delicious bark!
