My Favorite Podcasts from 2021
Podcasts have had such a comeback. I guess they were never really “out of style,” but they were never really “in” either, until recently. Podcasts are a great alternative to music because they are educational and easy to listen to. I often listen to podcasts when I am cleaning my room, on a walk, folding laundry, or doing anything else where I want to be learning but can’t watch or read.
I listened to a lot of podcasts in 2021, so I found my personal favorites among a huge variety of different ones. Here are my very favorite podcasts from the last year that I can’t get enough of!
- Real Pod
Real Pod is #1 on my list for a good reason. Hosted by Victoria Garrick, former libero on the USC volleyball team from 2015-2018, Real Pod covers the real, human issues we all face with no filter. Victoria talks a lot about mental health and body image, and she gives her helpful tips and relatable stories about these topics. She also conducts interviews with guests such as Gracie Gold, Kerri Walsh, and Geneen Roth, the founder of the intuitive eating method, to name a few. Real Pod is uplifting, education, and most importantly, relatable!
- The Daily
The Daily from the New York Times is an awesome 20-minute summary of the day’s top stories. It is a great place to get the daily news in a concise, informative way. It is a great thing to listen to when you are getting ready or driving to school in the morning.
- Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain
I LOVE Emma Chamberlain’s realness. She is so relatable on Youtube, and her podcast is no exception. On Anything Goes, Emma talks about everything from boy advice to identity to mental health issues. Emma’s podcast makes me feel like I am talking to a friend. It is casual, funny, and relatable.
- The Joe Rogan Experience
I am sure you have heard of The Joe Rogan Experience, as this podcast is always topping the charts. On his podcast, Joe Rogan talks with various guests from many different fields and walks of life. His podcast is super entertaining and is a good place to hear from really interesting people with a wide range of opinions.
- The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast
I have been following Lauryn Bosstick on her blog, The Skinny Confidential, for a while now. Lauryn is my go-to when I need insight into anything beauty or wellness related. She hosts her podcast with her husband, who founded Dear Media, which produces a lot of top podcasts. Together they interview lots of guests about a variety of topics. However, I particularly like their episodes about mental and physical wellness, as this is Lauryn’s expertise.
- The Madhappy Podcast
If you read my latest blog post, you know that I am obsessed with the brand Madhappy. In addition to making really cool clothes, Madhappy has a great podcast hosted by the brand’s two cofounders. These two interview super cool and interesting guests like Lindsey Vonn, Logic, Emma Chamberlain, and more. I particularly love how much they talk about mental health on the podcast. They interview guests with enlightening and inspiring stories.
That is my short and sweet list of all of my favorite podcasts from the last year! I have these six podcasts constantly on repeat. I hope you give them a listen and enjoy them as much as I do.
