My Favorite Online Workouts + Essential Fitness Gear and Clothing

You may recall that I wrote a blog post called 5 No-Equipment Workouts to Do at Home last March. It is crazy that it has almost been a year since I uploaded that post- I guess time flies when you’re stuck at home!

Gyms and workout classes are starting to re-open safely where I am (maybe these establishments have been running for a while where you are), but I think it is safe to say that the online workout is here to stay. As fun as it can be to go to an in-person workout class, you have to really be committed to a time and place. Plus, you are forced to schedule your entire day around the class, whereas online workouts can fit into your day at any time or place. Some days I find myself working out at 7am and others at 7pm.

I have found some amazing online workout classes since my post last year that I am sharing with you all in this post. I have broken this post up into two sections: subscription based workouts and free workouts. Most of these workouts are tried and trued for me, but I have sprinkled in a few that I have heard amazing things about and am planning on trying.

Also, be sure to check out my favorite workout gear and clothing at the bottom of this post. You will not want to miss those picks!

Subscription based online workouts:

Peloton App

Regardless of whether or not you have Peloton equipment (like their signature stationary bike), the Peloton app is an amazing platform for all kinds of workouts. In fact, I would call it my go-to destination when I need a sweat. Whether you are a cardio lover, a yogi, a Pilates addict, or prefer any other type of sweat, this app is for you. Plus, the instructors are super fun and specialize in what they teach. BONUS: The app has a 30-day free trial period!

Melissa Wood Health

I recently hopped on the Melissa Wood Health bandwagon, and I have to say, it is worth the hype. I was a bit skeptical of the program at first, as I am a cardio lover through and through, but Melissa’s low impact workouts leave me sore for days. Her workouts are similar to a Pilates or yoga class, and I love Melissa’s peaceful vibes she brings to every class!

Global Tribe Retreats

Another great yoga program, Global Tribe Retreats has awesome, easy to follow classes both live and on-demand. You can pay for a singular class or pay for a subscription with Global Tribe Retreats.

The Sculpt Society

Created by celebrity trainer Megan Roup, The Sculpt Society is a dance cardio and sculpting program that users rave about. The program is a perfect combination of cardio and strengthening. I often have a hard time finding a balanced mix of both, so I am very eager to try this program out.

Tracy Anderson

Tracy Anderson is another celebrity trainer who has a wide variety of classes, both live and on-demand, available on her site. She also has workouts designed specifically for teens called Teen Stream! Tracy’s workouts consist of dance-like cardio and strengthening.

Alo Moves

You probably know about Alo Yoga, a line of high quality athletic and athleisure clothing. However, you may be unfamiliar with Alo Moves, Alo’s online yoga and workout studio. Alo Moves offers yoga classes (obviously), but they also have Pilates, HIIT, Barre, and other classes available for users.

Free online workouts:

Nike Run Club

I have been using this app for a while now, and it is great! NRC offers different running classes to listen to while you run. It is like having a personal coach in your ear when you run. The app has everything from beginner runs to 10K runs to 20K runs!

Nike Training Club

Similar to Nike Run Club, Nike Training Club has tons of on-demand workouts available to users. NTC has everything from yoga to cardio to strength. The app also has mobility and active recovery classes.

Popsugar Fitness

Popsugar Fitness’s subscriber count of almost 5.6 million tells you how beloved their workouts are. Popsugar Fitness offers a super wide variety of classes for every type of person. They also have classes of all lengths. They often bring in successful workout instructors to guest lead their classes. I especially love this 30 minus cardio class!

Heather Robertson

Heather Roberson is another Youtube sensation with a large following. She offers full-body workouts but also has many workouts that just target one section of the body. She offers many types of workouts, and her videos are super easy to follow along to.

Madfit

Madfit is another Youtube channel from fitness guru, Maddie Lymburner. Maddie’s channel has every workout you can imagine and is very beloved, hence its subscriber count north of 5.5 million!
